Bachman Lake Fishing Guide
Angling Opportunities
Bachman Lake is a 132-acre reservoir offering fishing for Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie and more. Spring and fall are peak seasons across all species.
Cover & Structure
Cover is limited at Bachman. The dam offers some submerged brush that holds sunfish, crappie, and bass. There are sporadic stands of native emergent vegetation along the shoreline.
Tips & Tactics
Catfish can be caught throughout the lake although they are not overly abundant. Crappie can be caught on minnows and jigs along the dam and in the deeper water on the western end of the lake. Bass are found in the brush along the dam as well as along the riprap on the south side of the lake opposite Love Field. Sunfish can be caught with live worms along the shore with some nice warmouth being present in Bachman as well.
Fishing Regulations
Bachman Lake has a 5-horsepower limit on boat motors; anglers may use electric trolling motors.
