Marble Falls Lake Fishing Guide

Angling Opportunities

Lake Marble Falls contains moderate density largemouth bass and channel catfish populations. The reservoir also has low density white crappie, blue and flathead catfish populations. There have been reports of catches of white bass in the upper end of the lake below Wirtz Dam (Lake LBJ Dam) during the spring months.

Cover & Structure

Lake Marble Falls is narrow and riverine in nature. Shorelines are typically steep with rock bluffs or boulders. A few docks and boat houses ring the water's edge.

Tips & Tactics

Largemouth bass fishermen have their best success on this reservoir fishing plastic worms or jigs around the many boat houses and docks that line the shoreline. Some bass may also be caught fishing small crankbaits along the shoreline bluffs and boulders. During spring months white bass can be caught in the upper section of the reservoir if one dares to navigate the shallow, boulder-laden river channel. A few crappie can be caught on this reservoir, especially around the docks. Catfish fishermen can find channel, blue, and flathead cats throughout the reservoir.
