Lake Kirby Fishing Guide

Angling Opportunities

Lake Kirby is a 740-acre reservoir offering fishing for Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie and more. Spring and fall are peak seasons across all species.

Cover & Structure

Willow trees and dead, flooded brush dominate. Ample rocky structure exists on the east bank and the dam. Some bulrushes provide cover on west side.

Tips & Tactics

Blue catfish appear to be concentrated off shore, while channel catfish fishing has been very good close to shore near flooded vegetation. For crappie, there are plenty of willow trees where fishermen can dabble minnows, crappie jigs, or plastic worms.

Fishing Regulations

Lake Kirby has special regulations on some fishes. Check current TPWD regulations before your trip.
